"BOB WALTON AFFILIATES WITH RMG TO
OFFER
RMG CONSULTING SERVICES TO HIGHER EDUCATION"
Bob Walton, long-time library technology
industry leader, will affiliate with RMG Consultants, Inc., one of
the world’s leading library technology consulting firms, to
provide consulting services to Higher Education. The association
will begin immediately, and was announced by Rob McGee, President
of RMG, and Walton.
Walton currently serves as Vice President for Finance and Business
at The College of
Wooster (Wooster,
OH), a position he has held since 1999. He is responsible for all
college operations and fiscal planning.
Walton most recently served on the boards of two leading library
automation companies. He was on the Dynix Board of Directors from
November 2004 through July 2005, and prior to that served for one
year as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Ex Libris USA.
Before going to Wooster College, Bob served as the Executive Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer of Innovative Interfaces from
1992 to 1999, and before that, as President of CLSI, Inc..
Walton will work with RMG principals to further develop RMG
Consulting Services for Higher Education, building on RMG’s
recent assistance to The College of Wooster in planning and
procuring an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
“Using RMG’s methodologies and practices, Rob took us
through a 6-month ERP planning and procurement process that
accomplished what often has taken other institutions one or two
years or more,” said Walton. “I’m enthusiastic
about working with the RMG Team to take RMG’s best value
planning and procurement services to the H.E. ERP
sector.”
“It’s a great opportunity for all of us to work
together,” McGee said. “For years we each have worked
to create and maintain best practices and ethical standards in the
library automation industry – RMG representing buyers, and
Bob representing sellers. And before that, Bob competed with RMG as
President and Founder of Walton Bridge Consulting. It is a genuine
pleasure to work together now, to think and create based on our
pool of knowledge and experience in the library and education
industries. We want to bring the full benefits of well-engineered
best value library consulting practices to the Higher Education
industry. Walton brings impressive experience and expertise to
RMG’s management consulting services.”
